Wholio

Terms

Last updated 24 October 2026

These Terms apply when you use Wholio. By using it, you agree to them and to the Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Wholio.

In short: Wholio is a free tool for tracking your own money. It doesn't hold or manage your money, and it isn't financial advice. Keep your own copy of your data.

Who runs Wholio

Wholio is run by an individual developer in Australia ("I" or "me"), not a company. Contact: hello@wholio.app.

What Wholio is

Wholio lets you record your spending, budgets, assets, and debts. Everything in it is what you type in or scan yourself. Wholio does not hold, move, invest, or manage your money, and it doesn't connect to your bank.

Not financial advice

Suggestions, ratings, and figures in Wholio are general information based on simple rules of thumb and what you enter. They don't take your full situation into account and aren't financial, tax, or legal advice. Talk to a licensed adviser before making big decisions.

Check your numbers

Receipt reading can misread amounts, and currency rates update once a day, so conversions are estimates. Check entries before you rely on them.

Your account

Your data

Fair use

Don't use Wholio to break the law, try to reach other people's data, attack or overload the service, or copy or resell it. I may suspend or delete accounts that do.

Wholio's name, design, and code

The Wholio name, logo, design, and code belong to me. You can use the app as these Terms allow, but they don't give you ownership of any of it. Your own data stays yours, as explained above.

Feedback

If you send ideas or suggestions, I can use them to improve Wholio without paying you or naming you. Please don't send anything you want kept confidential.

Other services

Wholio relies on other services, such as Google for sign-in, Supabase for storage, and a currency rate provider. They have their own terms and privacy policies, and I'm not responsible for them. The Privacy policy lists them.

Messages from Wholio

I'll contact you by email or with a notice in the app, for example about changes to these Terms or a security issue. These count as written notice.

Changes and availability

Wholio is free and provided "as is". It may have errors, change, pause, or shut down. Before a shutdown I'll try to give notice so you can download your data. If these Terms change, the date above will change, and for significant changes the app will ask you to agree again.

Liability

As far as the law allows, I'm not responsible for any loss from using Wholio, including decisions you make based on it, lost data, or the service being unavailable. Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't be excluded. Where my liability can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again.

Ending

You can stop using Wholio at any time and delete your account in Settings. I can close accounts that break these Terms, or close Wholio with reasonable notice.

Accessibility

I want Wholio to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers or keyboards. If something is hard to use, email hello@wholio.app and I'll try to fix it.

Law

These Terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and its courts can hear any dispute.
